Certified Master Chef Norbert Schulz
Chef Schulz arrived to the US in 1975 and has been creating memorable cuisine ever since. He started his culinary career in 1964 in Germany with his participation in a formal apprenticeship through some of the finest hotels and restaurants. After his four-year tenure at the legendary Scandia Restaurant in Los Angeles, he returned to Germany to complete his Certified Master Chef process, an intensive and coveted certification achievement in the culinary profession, recognized around the world.
Upon his return to the US, Chef Schulz opened his first restaurant – Norbert’s that won the hearts and palates of Santa Barbara residents and visitors for nearly a decade. Additional restaurants followed with Brigette’s, Alegro and Mattei’s Tavern in Santa Ynez. Today, Norbert remains very active in the local culinary community with numerous contributions throughout the year providing his own brand of cooking in many non-profit and fund raising events.
